Cameron's sister Caitlin got married!

First, I want to say that I will never, ever, ever, ever take a drive halfway across the country with kids ever again. We decided to leave Thursday night and drive thru the night. We decided to do this, thinking that the kids would sleep and we could sleep and switch off driving. What fools we were. Brooks slept on and off, and Emma never slept. Cameron couldn't get to sleep due to our kids being so loud and the fact that Shrek 2 was played over and over again. I was able to drive until about 4:00 a.m., and then Cam took the wheel. He wasn't able to get very far though, and we had to stop about 6:00 a.m. in Clinton, Oklahoma. We paid for a room that we slept in for 4 hours. Emma still wouldn't sleep, and we just turned on Nick for her so that we could sleep. She kept wanting to leave the room, and would get upset when the chain would prevent her from leaving. She started crying at one point, and was so loud that we were afraid that we were going to be asked to leave.

We didn't get good sleep, and about 10:00 a.m. we were off again. Well we got about 20 minutes into the drive, and I realized that I forgot my cell phone at the hotel. We turned around and had to go get it. So that was a wasted 40 minutes. Emma still hadn't slept at this point, and we didn't reach AZ until around 11:00 p.m.  Emma still hadn't slept, so we gave her some Children's Tylenol and she crashed. Coming home wasn't very easy either, but we left Arizona around 9:00 a.m., and stop in Amarillo, Texas for the night. Then the next day we drove again and didn't reach St. Louis until 8:00 p.m. It was just the pits. I am glad that we had a blast once we reached Arizona. Cam's sister Whitney was an outstanding host. We loved staying at her house. Well that is about all.

We had such a good time in Arizona. Take a look at my slide show. Here are a couple of pictures of the bride and groom. They looked so happy, and I wish that I was as calm on my wedding day. I wish that I would have taken more pictures of the decorations, but they were goergeous. Here is the link to what the pieces looked like. It is called Not your mother's wedding. Everything was just beautiful. Anyways, here are some pics.

(your are always so sweet in your comments to me!!)

Oh I ACHE for you and your sleepless little girl on your road trip. Ours in June was MISERABLE 70% of the two-week trip, so I completely sympathize. You deserve to just be home and peaceful and in a routine for a while.... Welcome back!

Yes, traveling with kids... the reason we don't go anywhere! Sorry to hear that it was so miserable, but it looks like you had a great time once you got there.

I am sooo sorry about your road trip! That is serious dedication to the cause to do that kind of vacationing. Your slide show was sooo cute!! I can't believe how big your kids are getting - you old lady! It seems like you guys just fit in Arizona. I hope that when you make your next move - it will be somewhere that makes you as happy as you seemed in your blog post. I love ya lots and miss you. Hope to see you soon. Thanks for the cute pics of the fam. Janae
