Say What???

Okay all,

I must say, that I enjoy reading the comments of others. That being said, POST SOME COMMENTS! I have a visitor map, and it tells me who is checking my blog and where they are. I know people are looking at the blog, but even if I don't know you, you can still comment. It is almost like that movie You've Got Mail. I sign in everday and look at my blog hoping that there is a comment waiting for me. I know this sounds weird, but I like to know that people are enjoying my blog. Also, if you only know me through my blog it is still okay to post a comment. I love to meet new people. Consider yourselves warned! :-) For those of you who post comments on a regular basis, just know that I love to read them. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest, and thanks to Kristen S. for giving me the idea to write this.

Brooks rolling over

This is a little long, but I posted this more for the grandparents. I put him on his stomach, and turned around to pick some toys up. The next thing I hear is a bam. He rolled off his blanket onto the floor. I got out the video camera, and this was his second attempt at rolling over. Hope you enjoy!

Nauvoo

My sister-in-law Caitlin came in from Arizona on Tuesday night. I was glad that she came, and I hope that she had a good time. On Wednesday we went to the Botanical Gardens. I had never been there before. It was fun, but I think I was expecting something different. We let Emma play in the water for a minute, and walked around and looked at the weird statues. Wednesday we went to the old courthouse downtown. It is where they held the trial for Dred Scott. Thursday we went to the Arch. She had a good time there. We couldn't go on the ferry boat though because the river was so flooded. Friday we went to the zoo and then shopping. Saturday was when we went to Nauvoo and Carthage. The weather was beautiful the whole entire time Catilin was here. Here is where we went:

We had a little trouble getting over the Mississippi to get into Illinois. We finally found a way through, but it was very scary this is what we saw out our windows. The water was right up to us on both sides.

Once we got across the river we went to Carthage. It was a wonderful experience to actually see first hand the jail that they kept Joseph Smith in. I would have enjoyed it more, but when you have a fussy baby and a two and a half year old you can't get picky. Here is a picture of us at the statue in front of Carthage Jail. The jail is right behind us.

After Carthage jail, we went into Nauvoo and ate lunch at a cute little cafe. We then went to the Nauvoo temple. It was very beautiful, and the view was great. Here is a picture

We then went to Pioneer pastimes and let Emma play some games. Then we went to the Tin shop, the Blacksmith shop, Scovil bakery, and the Brickyard. The blacksmith shop was cool, because they made Emma a little horseshoe, and they gave our rings to everyone. At the brickyard they give everyone a souvenir brick. Unfortunately we didn't have time for much else. There is so much more to see. Check out the website at historic Nauvoo. We are definitely going back to see more. It was a great experience, and I hope that my sister-in-law had fun, because we sure did. Thanks for coming Caitlin.

Cards, cards, cards!!!!

I have to say that I love making cards. I don't have alot of experience, but I am never going to get better if I don't practice. I have always put it off, because I don't have all the cool equipment to make them the way I would like to. here are a couple of pictures that I took of the cards I have made recently. I am sure that they will start to look better the more practice that I get. Hopefully this will become more of a hobby then it currently is.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Well, for those of you who can't figure it out, I made that slide show for Cam. Emma helped a little (she likes to look at herself). It was hard trying to figure out what pictures to use, because I am always the one taking the pictures, so Cam is in a lot of the pictures. I hope that you all enjoy. I didn't have a lot of money for Fathers Day, so this is what he got. Emma also made him a card. I told him that I would make him anything that he would like to eat, and he chose waffles, bacon, and eggs. I kind of feel like a bad cook, but I just have to accept the fact that that is Cam for ya. I have to say for the record though, that I am an awesome cook. Anyways, here are a couple of facts for you about Cam.

1. Born: October 23, 1977 Mesa, Arizona
2. He had blond hair when he was young
3. He actually had a ton of hair, and it was curly
4. He loves D&D, and World of Warcraft
5. He loves the ocean, and loved going to California every Christmas (I can attest, it is a blast).
6. He served his mission in Lansing, Michigan. He was a great missionary
7. I first laid eyes on him July 22, 1999
8. We had our first kiss July 26, 1999
9. We were married March 11, 2000 in the Idaho Falls Temple
10. He loves sports. He is now talking about how football is starting soon. He loves Arizona. The Sun Devils, Cardinals, Suns, and I am more of a baseball fan, but he likes the Diamondbacks as well. I am just glad that he isn't that into hockey.
11. He grinds his teeth when he sleeps
12. He surprisingly loves me, and I couldn't be happier that he picked me.

Happy Father's Day honey, I love you.

Another thumbsucker!

Emma went off the pacifier bandwagon after she discovered her thumb, and I think her little brother is right behind her. He has found his thumb, and sucks on it so hard sometimes I think he will take it right off! Noticed he is covered in slobber! He is getting his first tooth.

Our super cool park

There are a ton of turtles in the pond at the park by our house. They are always sunning themselves on a tree stump, but today they were all in the water.

I think this is a falcon, but it could be a hawk. I don't know the difference. This bird was huge, and when it landed in the tree, all the birds and squirrels went nuts! I have also heard woodpeckers in the park, and we see bunnies as well. We have a family of bunnies living somewhere close to our house, because they are always in our yard.

This is a video of Emma feeding the duck at the pond. It isn't great, but it was fun feeding him.

Brooks laughing

Brooks is starting to laugh. he gets better at it every day, but I thought this video was cute.

Can you find Emma?

Emma decided that because she didn't want to go to bed that she would trash her room and then I guess fall asleep on the floor. We went in to check on her, and I freaked out when she wasn't on her bed. We looked around and saw this. Had to take a picture.

Back to Normal?

Well, I had my surgery on Saturday. Friday it stormed a lot, and Saturday morning my doctor called and wanted to bump up my surgery because his soccer game was rained out. I was there about 9:00 am, and the nurses there were so nice. I guess it was pretty slow for a Saturday, because we had about 5 nurses in the room with us. They were googling over Brooks, and they gave Emma a coloring book, stickers, and Teddy Grahams. After I got set, they sent me to preop and Cam had to leave. I sat in preop for about 45 minutes. It was horrible! You just sit there and have time to think about everything. Finally some nurses came to talk to me before I was knocked out cold. They said they were going to give me something to relax me, I told them I could feel it, and they said that I would really feel it in about 30 seconds. That was the last thing that I remember. I was extremly uncomfortable when I woke up, so they pumped me up with morphine. That pretty much knocked me out again. Everything else about that day was pretty much a blur. I am feeling better of course than Saturday. I am hoping all goes well with Biopsy and my checkup. Thanks so much to everyone that called and was thinking about us.

Emma counting to 10

Emma is now counting to ten really well. We are working on colors as well. Her favorite at the moment is Blue. Everything is Blue.

Sleeping Cuties!

Sometimes I enjoy my children more when they are asleep! I remember this day as being especially hard, and I was glad when they were finally asleep. Notice that Emma has no pajamas on. I guess that is another phase of the beast that is Emma.

Storms in St. Louis

I thought that I would take a little video of the storms we get here. The past couple that we have had have been pretty severe.
